There are times when I wish I was high up in the sky,

yet I am afraid I'll never be able to touch the ground.

There are times when I wish I was all down and low,

yet I am afraid I'll never be able to see up and above.

There are times when I dream of the far and wide,

yet I am afraid I'll be crushed aside.

There are times when I try to seek the light,

yet I am afraid I'll be thrust back in the dark.

There are times when I wish I could see the beauty within,

yet I am afraid I will leave a scar behind.

There are times when I wish I could lend a helping hand,

yet I am afraid I'll be left alone.

There are times I wish I could fall in love,

yet I am afraid I'll be selfish enough.

There are times I wish I could stand,

yet I am afraid I'll fall.

There are times I wish I was a fool to be wise,

yet I am afraid I'll be wise to be ignorant.

There are times I wish I could just be me,

yet I am afraid no one will see.

Then there are times I know I cannot see beyond the stars,

yet I am not afraid to imagine the possibilities.

Therefore, this is ME!
